    Hi, I’m about to trailer a sport bike and picked up some regular ratchet straps, how would you recommend I use them for the front tie down? I ask because it looks like the straps you used don’t have the metal hooks that come with “regular” ratchet straps. Thanks!

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad 5 днів тому

      You can do what I just did with the hooks also instead of looping it around, but if you have very skinny ratchet straps like the typical straps you buy for a few bucks at the store then I would not recommend doing it with those because they are just too flimsy. You can do the old-school train of thought. It’s just going to not be great, but you can only use what your straps are capable of doing.

    Chris, great video. Currently has belt drive n recently discovered that my rear belt pulley has slight bent whivh attached(stamped ring) on back side of oem pulley during my routine maintenance from HD dealer. They recommend strongly to replace a new oem pulley. I am in the fence post considering going with chain conversion if possible. Questions , once I installed a chain drive, do i need to re- dyno my bike, furthermore, can i still utilize belt cover with chain drive, and woould this grease sling all over the rear n especially my clamshell saddlebags? Appreciate your feedback.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad 16 днів тому

      I will pretty much always recommend a chain conversion. It’s just my style. As far as getting the bike on a dino, no you do not have to get a different tune because it would change nothing, even if you went with a different gear ratio you still would not have to change the tune because, the engine itself is doing the exact same work. It’s just the final drive ratio that has changed if that makes sense. Yes, I have known people that still utilize the belt guard with the chain. I don’t think it’s necessarily advised because the chain moves and kind of slaps around a lot. But I know people that have kept it on for several hundred miles with no issue. I removed mine instantly obviously. As far as grease getting all over your bike, not if you use good products and you don’t over apply. I have used maxima spray wax with amazing results. No sling off. Just don’t over apply. I use muc off degreaser to clean it and remove old wax

  • @paulson9616
    @paulson9616 16 днів тому

    Hi Chris, AWSOME video. What gear ratio with front n rear sproket for 20 low rider s? I want to keep it stock configuration unless you have better suggestions. Appreciate it.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad 16 днів тому

      All right, so if you want to keep it stock, you have a couple different options for the most part. Any chain conversion kit you decide to go with should tell you what the stock gearing is for you to get a comparable set up. Weather is Speed Kings, Bulkin, Bung King, sprocket center, any website should give you what the stock gearing would be as an option

    Wow, nice save Dad. Well handled. I just had a kickstand issue and got it repaired. My bike is raised a bit from a taller shock and forks raised in the triple trees and a taller rear tire, my kickstand ejected a retaining pin. So I was looking for ways to help it. But I ride so hard that I got orange peel on my rear tire and rebound wear patterns, So anything that takes my lean angle and ground clearance away is just unacceptable. Seeing you go off the edge, that was a very smart save. I saw it and "OH SHI..." Well played. Thank you for the vid.

    Do you suggest upgrading everything while doing these clutch disks? I got the Koso lifter plate as a gift but it’s only for 3 bolts and 60% springs. Will that be fine or should I get the basket made to upgrade all 6 springs and a better lift plate ? (Hopefully I said all that right)

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad 17 днів тому

      You can do just the diy setup I did with the springs. The better plate is an upgrade but not needed really. All up to you. But you’ll be fine with the minimum like I did

    Definitely agree with your analysis and results. I am 6’1” and I tried everything on my fat bob from the 17” to the 7”. Some vented, some not. All had buffeting just in slightly different areas and speeds. Especially because I like to run my visor open with sunglasses at times. Now I just run no fairing. Just easier with the clean air. At least I know I just ain’t alone lol.

      What exactly do you want from the turn signal kit? A relocation kit of the stock turn signals is not gonna be a low profile item. great videos, thanks! I own the same Superlow and will install the SS 883 to 1200 conversion kit (just the cylinders and pistons). Do you think I can rely on pv3 or pv4 for tuning after the upgrade? Because there are no reliable shops who can dyno tune my bike here in Bulgaria.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad Місяць тому

      With anything can job and up you need a shop to tube. A pv3 or 4 will be able to have a downloaded tune specific to your bike but it won’t be very good. Possibility of running lean or rich amongst other issues. I know you don’t have a close shop but you need to just bite the bullet and bring it to a place that’ll tune it. Even if it’s a few hours away. You can rent a trailer/truck etc. I know it’s not ideal but there’s no substitution for a real shop tune with that kind of engine work
